| İlgilizce Özet | This study aimed to explore the depression, anxiety, sleep quality, and biological rhythms of COVID-19 patients. A total of 123 patients included 60 inpatients and 63 patients whose treatment was carried out at home, who were diagnosed by PCR test and clinical findings, who applied to Kafkas University Faculty of Medicine Health Research and Practice Hospital COVID-19 clinics, were included in the study. Furthermore, as a healthy control group of 124 people with similar age and gender characteristics to the patient group, 247 people were included in the study. Sociodemographic data form, Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21), Biological Rhythms Interview for Assessment in Neuropsychiatry (BRIAN), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were applied to the participants. In addition, symptoms of COVID-19 disease were questioned in terms of taste or smell disorders. DASS-21 and all its subscales, PSQI, and BRIAN scores were higher in the patient group compared to the control group (p <0.05). Anxiety scores and PSQI scores in the patient group were significantly higher in the inpatient group than in the group receiving home treatment (p <0.05). BRIAN scores were higher in the group receiving home treatment (p <0.05). Age [Odds ratio (OR) = 1.03] and gender (OR = 6.01) were found to be risk factors for developing taste or smell disturbance in COVID-19 disease. According to the results of our study, it can be said that individuals with COVID-19 disease have a higher risk of developing mood disorders, irregularity in their biological rhythms, and deterioration in sleep quality compared to healthy controls. In addition, it can be said that those hospitalized and have the more severe illness are riskier in terms of anxiety disorder and deterioration in sleep quality. Finally, age and gender variables are directly related to the impairment in the sense of taste or smell that can be seen in COVID-19 disease. |
