| Özet |
| It is intended to determine of sialic acid and some biochemical parameter levels in infected cattle with tuberculosis. In the study, to investigate the biochemical parameters, 25 tuberculosis infected and 25 healthy cattle were used according to ELISA test results. Blood samples were taken from V. jugularis of animals and sera separated. Total sialic acid (TSA), lipid-bound sialic acid (LBSA), total protein, albumin and globulin concentrations were measured in serum samples by colorimetric methods. The protein-bound sialic acid (PBSA) concentration was found by subtracting LBSA from TSA. Also the albumin/globulin ratio was calculated. The results of biochemical tests are evaluated individually, compared with the control group, it has been found that there is a statistically significant increase in the TSA and LBSA concentrations in infected cattle with tuberculosis. On the contrary, total protein, albumin and globulin concentrations of infected cattle were significantly lower than the control group. In conclusion determination of serum TSA and especially LBSA concentration in infected cattle with tuberculosis may be indicative of cellular damage during the inflammatory process. |
