Özet
It is seen that CETSCALE is the most widely used scale in the marketing literature related to ethnocentrism, which has been the subject of many disciplines since the 1900s. However, in 2015, Siamagka and Balabanis stated that this scale has various deficiencies and introduced a new scale, the Extended Consumer Ethnocentrism Scale (CEESCALE), to the marketing literature. At this point, the main purpose of this study is to measure the validity and reliability of the Extended Consumer Ethnocentrism Scale in Turkish. In accordance with this purpose, the scale was first translated into Turkish and checked by experts fluent in both languages. In the next stage, the scale was applied to consumers from different generations, taking into account the possibility of differentiation of consumption habits, and Turkish validity and reliability studies were carried out. While conducting the Turkish reliability validity study, SPSS 20 and AMOS 23 statistical programs were used and Cronbach’s Alpha reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were applied to the survey data obtained through these programs. As a result of the analysis, the CEESCALE scale consisted of 5 dimensions and 17 questions as in the original form. These dimensions are: social bias, cognitiveness, insecurity, reactivity and familiarity. In this respect, the study results are expected to support future studies in Turkish.
