Özet
This chapter focuses on various biological applications of heteroatom-doped carbon nanomaterials. The chapter begins with giving information about carbon allotropes and nano allotropes and their functionalization by heteroatom doping and continues with the current research investigating the possible uses of heteroatom-doped carbon-based nanomaterials in biological applications. Nitrogen and Boron-doped carbon allotropes and their application in biological processes are the most emphasized points of this chapter. On the other hand, functionalized single and multi-walled carbon nanotubes are discussed in detail due to their role in biosensor applications and research effort in the literature. Criticizing the biological applications of hetero-atom doped carbon nanotubes, graphene, fullerenes, and carbon dots based on the examples in the literature aims to review the progress in the last decades and provide …
