Özet |
Following the devastating 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, with moment magnitudes of Mw 7.7 and Mw 7.6, a comprehensive field study was conducted to assess the seismic performance and damage conditions of 27 historical masonry mosques and minarets in Antakya, a city with rich cultural heritage. These mosques, some of which are approximately 858 years old, represent significant historical and architectural value. The study involved detailed evaluations of their architectural features, structural systems, material properties, and craftsmanship to identify potential causes of damage. To aid in the classification of observed damage in mosques and minarets, a visual “Damage Assessment Form” was developed.
