| Özet |
| The aim of this study is to examine the effect of stressful life events to the burnout and depression level of academicians. The academicians who worked in Physical Education and Sports High School of 15 university in Turkey’s 7 geographical region were surveyed in line with this aim. The case study of this survey is 1188 academicians who worked in Physical Education and Sport Department in Public univercities. The sample of this study is composed with layerly sample method and totally 365 academicians who worked in Physical Education and Sport Department in 15 public univercities. The research is conducted on the data collected from the questionnaire (scale) that involves personal and occupational information, Social Readjustment Rating Scale (SRRS), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). During the evaluation of the data obtained at the end of the research, SPSS 11.5 and STATISTICA 7.0 programs were used. In the study; frequency, percentage and arithmetical means of data that was obtained for the purpose of determining the personal and occupational features of academicians of physical education and sports, depression level, burnout level, stress level and the data was interpreted.
