Özet
Metamisole sodium (MS), a pyrosilone derivate, is widely used non-opioid analgesic in veterinary medicine. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of different doses of metamizole sodium on serum urea, creatine, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phophatase (ALP) activities and tissue malondialdehyde (MDA) and reduced glutathione (GSH) level in liver and kidney of 32 Swiss Albino mice. The animals were divided into four equal groups. One group served as the control, while groups 1, 2 and 3 received 20, 50 and 100 mg/kg MS intramuscularly for seven days, respectively. After a seven-day injection, blood and tissue samples were collected from the mice. Serum samples were examined for the determination of BUN, creatine, ALT, AST and ALP, while tissue samples were evaluated for MDA and GSH levels. Results revealed that the high dose group (100 …
