| Özet |
| The study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of Theranekron and UT Forte preparations on the fertility of cows with placental retention. The study consisted of 35 cows of different breeds which developed retained placenta following normal birth. The animals were divided into groups A (n=12), B (n=11) and C (n=12) and administered with Theranekron (Tarantula cubensis 1 mg, Richter Pharma AG Wels-Austria), at 10 cc for three days, three boluses of UT Forte (Clortetracycline-HCL 500 mg, Vit. A 100 000 IU, Richter Pharma AG Wels-Austria) by i/u administration for three days, and both Theranekron 10 cc/sc and UT Forte boluses i/u for three days, respectively. Results revealed that the time of expulsion of fetal membranes, length of involution period and the time to subsequent oestrus were significantly lower in group C than groups A and B.
