Özet
At 1-3 years of age 36 carp were exposed to different concentrations of benzocaine (30, 40, 50 mg/litre), chlorobutanol (200, 300, 400 mg/litre), or phenoxyethanol (0.3, 0.4, 0.5 mg/litre) at 20°C until death in 20 to more than 360 minutes. There were no gross lesions in the viscera, but microscopic changes are described in the gills, liver, kidneys and central nervous system. They were more noticeable in the fish that had died after a longer time, and were less prominent in the brain. The 3 anaesthetics caused similar histological lesions.
