| The aim of the present study was to determine the incidence of bovine mastitis in the Kars region and its surrounding areas by carrying out pathological examination of lobes with mastitis and their supramammary lymph nodes, as well as by isolating and identifying the microorganisms causing the disease. 950 cows brought to two local abattoirs were examined clinically for mastitis prior to slaughter and their milk was tested using the California mastitis test (CMT). Following slaughter, gross pathological examination was performed. A total of 105 (11.05%) cows were found to have mastitis.
