Özet
This study was conducted to determine the aetiological agent that causes pneumonia and examine the pathological lesions in sheep from the region of Kars, Turkey [date not given]. Tissue samples of lungs and mediastinal lymph nodes of sheep (n=2482), slaughtered in a private abattoir, were examined for pneumonia. Gross lesions were detected in 145 samples of lungs (5.8%). The lesions were localized in the cranial lobes. Pneumonia was classified as follows based on the histopathological findings: catarrhal-purulent bronchopneumonia (1.69%), necrotic bronchopneumonia with abscessation (1.32%), verminous pneumonia (1.12%), interstitial pneumonia (0.76%) and fibrinous pneumonia (0.24%).
