| Sodium lanthanides double tungstates NaRE(WO4)2 (RE = Pr, Ho, Sm) were synthesized by solid-state reactions at 800 °C for 10 h by using sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), tungsten trioxide (WO3), lanthanides oxide (RE2O3) as raw materials at stoichiometric 1:1:2 Na:RE: W molar ratio. The synthesized materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) technique. Rietveld analyses indicated that the NaHo(WO4)2 and NaSm(WO4)2 crystallized in the tetragonal crystal system with the I41/a space group and NaPr(WO4)2 was crystallized in the monoclinic crystal system with the P2/n space group. The FESEM images illustrated that the morphology of the patterns had homogeneous sponge structures. The energy band gaps were calculated by using diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS).
